- Writing as a medium for self-discipline
- We need to be more precise which leads to clearer thinking
- Context matters. Share ideas, iterate and collaborate.
- Encourage more writing, so people get more practice.
- Typos within the team, fine. A week of writing and re-writing for broader communication more appropriate.
- Search
-
We should be able to write without worrying where to put it or how to find it.

This removes roadblocks and creates a single source of truth.
-
If people don't know where to look, they'll need to interrupt to find it.
- Async/Sync Communication
- Written can be good, but it can get verbose and unhelpful
- Good to know when it is worth jumping on a call.
- Prefer aync, but don't be pedantic if you notice it falling down
- Thinking Out Loud
- Post interesting things in public channels - doesn't interrupt but does allow knowledge sharing
- Making a critical change? Post it in chat. Deliberately point out what you're doing.
- If you've got partially through a problem, post in a chat - build trust and vulnerability.
- This can then be leveraged when an actual crisis hits.
